Introduction Blog

Hi! my name is Megan, 


I am 18 years old, I completed my Leaving Cert in 2021 in Kylemore College Ballyfermot and am currently a 1st-year student in the Creative Digital Media course at the Technological University Dublin in Blanchardstown. 


Personally starting college has been very nerve-wracking for me but thankfully since I have been on campus recently I have come to the realization that there was no need to be anxious and I am looking forward to beginning this course. I have many interests but one thing that not many people tend to know about me is that I have a very keen interest in photography and computers. This keen interest is what led me to choose to do Creative Digital Media. 


Growing up I have always had a fascination with computers and technology, I feel that this course will help me learn a lot more skills and allow me to understand a lot more about different aspects of computers. I am looking forward to being able to create websites and learn all about web development etc.


Unfortunately, I haven’t done much photography in my past but now and then I enjoy taking photographs as I find that photography is a great way to relax and escape from reality. I enjoy taking scenic photographs mainly sunsets and sunrises but I also enjoy taking photographs of nature. I think I am going to enjoy the digital photography module within this course and I hope to gain a broader knowledge of photography and advance in my skills. 


I have taken the time to sit down and view the images on the Pixabay website and found it very hard to choose just one image that I liked as I found that there were so many to choose from. The picture that I have chosen that I find is most relevant to this blog would be the following Image:

The reason for me choosing this image is because as I mentioned above, I have a big interest in Photography but mainly scenic images of sunrises and sunsets, and I feel that this image expresses that. This image grabbed my attention and stood out immediately as soon as I scrolled through this website and I felt as though it fitted into this blog very nicely.

Peer Review #2

       Hi, This week's reading Task included me having to read two other students' previous written blogs and give feedback. I learned a lot from this task in different ways. Reading other peoples blogs allowed me to notice the different things that would also help me improve on my blog for example being more clear and more detailed on different topics that I talk about to allow those reading to get a better understanding of the topic itself and my thoughts and ideas that I am trying to get across. I also learned that something as simple as structuring or laying my blogs out a bit better with paragraphs or paying more attention to my punctuation allows my writing to make more sense to others.
